Post-Election confessional
I have a confession to make...I voted for John McCain. I'm glad that I voted for John McCain. I felt he was the candidate that would best follow and revere the Constitution of these United States of America. That being said I recognize the historical significance of the election of Barack H. Obama as the 44th President of the United States of America. Though I did not vote for him he is my President and I will give him the respect the office deserves. That being said, I feel emboldened to speak out against any attempts to erode our liberties and individual freedoms. I am a Centrist. I believe in the unique nature of American Democracy and the ideals of the Republic. I believe that by holding to the tenants of the Founding Fathers our Republic and its ideals will remain a beacon for all who toil in dark. I do not believe that because our country was founded by wealthy white men that we as a people should now throw out their ideals. I believe that the Constitution does not limit the liberties of any citizen regardless of race, gender, or sexuality. I believe in smaller government and fiscal conservatism. I believe in walking softly but carrying a big stick. I am socially liberal. Regardless of what I personally believe I do not believe that the government should legislate morality. I now realize that I no longer fit within the modern two party system. I am neither a Republican nor Democrat I am an Independent. "Independent" is a very nebulous word that actually encompasses so many points of view that it cannot function as a political entity. I am searching for my path right now looking for the way forward. My plan over the course of this blog is to explore the writings and ideals that helped form the Republic and discuss the unique origins and history of Democratic society.

Hear, hear!! Well said, Master Coyote! There are many of us who are bereft of allegiance, save to our nation, her people and our God.
We, who love our nation more than self, have been, in our self-centered greed, shaken soundly to see the light of our misdeeds in light of their damage to the nation we have purported to love and honor. Her best interests have been all but layed waste, and in so doing, we have nearly slain our own best angels.
Now is the time for true repentance of our misdeeds and prayerful, thoughtful consideration of our future actions in service to our nation and one another.
I stand with you and the nation.
